The National Leadership Academy (NLA) had the honour of hosting a high-level joint delegation comprising representatives from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Somalia, and the Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Transformative Governance Project (TGP) during an official visit and strategic engagement session.

The visit provided a valuable platform for dialogue and reflection on ongoing partnerships, with discussions centered on strengthening collaboration to support Somalia’s public sector transformation agenda. Key areas of focus included enhancing institutional capacity, improving public sector performance, and advancing innovative approaches to governance that are responsive, inclusive, and results-driven.

The delegation was also briefed on the Academy’s core programs, strategic priorities, and its role in nurturing a new generation of public sector leaders equipped with the skills, mindset, and tools required to drive sustainable change across government institutions.

Participants emphasized the importance of continued partnership and alignment in delivering impactful reforms under the Transformative Governance Project. The engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to supporting the Federal Government of Somalia in building resilient institutions, promoting accountability, and fostering a culture
